Font - r/pettyrevenge Posted by u/ArisaLeigh 21 hours ago I prevented a former friend from adopting a kitten "Kylie" and I became friends when I moved to the city for college. I use the term friends loosely. I was still young and ignorant, and had yet to learn that nice is not synonymous with kind.

Font - The friendship officially ended when she was promoted at work. At the celebratory dinner with our friends group, she announced that she wouldn't be able to spend time with us going forward. Being promoted meant she had to "spend more time with important people."
  • 03
Font - A few people laughed, but she reiterated: "I'm not joking. I like you guys, but I'm very important now. I can't keep associating with people I know from college."

Font - I wasn't disappointed, and this gave me a convenient, questions- free exit. After graduation, Kylie's parents bought a condo for her. She adopted a kitten and had it declawed because her furniture is "more important" and "declawing doesn't hurt cats." She eventually

Font - dropped the cat off with her parents for two reasons: in her own words, she is very important and needs to network more, and now that she worked hard for her degree and home ownership, she wanted a spouse.

Font - "Nobody wants to date a woman with cats. So Etta (the cat) has to live with my parents. It's not a big deal. Cats aren't smart anyways. She won't even remember me."
  • 07
Font - Not even a year later, a friend who hate follows her on social media saw a post. Kylie found the perfect new addition to the family. She and her boyfriend love cats, so they submitted an application for a kitten at (local rescue).
  • 08
Font - I called the rescue during my lunch break and gave them the information I had: that she declaws her cats, and rehomed her previous one because it didn't fit with her lifestyle. I said that I could not, in good conscience, have this knowledge and at least let them know.

Font - Kylie didn't end up getting the kitten, nor any other kitten from that rescue. I'm realistic, so I can imagine her next steps. At least I know I thwarted this attempt.

Font - knitlikeaboss 20 hr. ago This isn't petty tbh. You saved an animal from a possibly awful thing (or more than one- declawing and being abandoned, probably a certain level of neglect while in her "care" too)

Rectangle - Direct_Piccolo1247 16 hr. ago Right and all the other local shelters (in that area) too. If you really want to take it up a notch, hit up the rehoming and adoption social media pages too!

Font - liluna192 13 hr. ago 100%. her. The fact that she wouldn't bring her previous cat to live with her is a huge red flag. Sure, life happens and you can't always have pets. But to say that you're looking for a new kitten after giving one of them up...no. Hard no. Thanks for saving the cats from her.

Font - ww mollydgr 21 hr. ago I'm not very big on most petty revenge stories. But, whoa!!! Declawing a cat is the same as having our fingers cut off to the first knuckle This girl should NEVER be allowed to adopt a pet. I hope this shelter shares this information with the tri- state area.

Font - CanadianDNeh 17 hr. ago . Declawing has been banned by the Veterinary Associations of all Canadian provinces (except Ontario) with exceptions only for a legit medical need.

Smile - knitlikeaboss 20 hr. ago I cannot believe any vet will still do that. It's barbaric. Wait, no, that's an insult to barbarians.

Mammal - 2FatC 20 hr. ago Actually, you prevented a monster from maiming an animal. Well done.

Font - Far Baby8227 3 hr. ago My kitten is an absolute AH who swipes, scratches and claws anything and anyone in sight. I still would never have her declawed. It makes me sick. I'm so glad it's not allowed where I live!

Font - AirWitch1692- 15 hr. ago "Cats aren't smart" ha that just tells you she never spent any time with the poor thing.... I may joke around and call my SIC girl "dum dum" cause she gets stuck behind open doors while playing with the calico but she's actually pretty smart and even at 11 is still learning and adapting to new things

Font - Presentation Huge2137 19 hr. ago Does wishing bad things on her make me bad? Because I really would like her to suffer, quite a bit

Font - Kaychees 4 hr. ago Like somebody cutting her fingers off right below the nail bed and throwing her out after? Nah, I think that would be fair.

Font - Best_Asparagus1205 19 hr. ago My cat, Moose, and I just did a high five for you. Thank you. The thought of declawing makes me feel physically sick.
